‘The Flash’ Star Danielle Panabaker Talks Caitlin’s Role In Arrowverse Crossover
Arrowverse star Danielle Panabaker revealed that she has a bigger role in this year’s four-way crossover between “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”
During a recent press visit to the Vancouver set of “The Flash,” Panabaker said that viewers will get to see Caitlin and Killer Frost “interact a little bit more with a lot of different characters” in “Crisis on Earth-X” compared to last year’s “Invasion!”
“I have some really funny interactions with Dom [Dominic Purcell], with his character,” Panabaker said (via FlashTVNews). “Heat Wave [aka Mick] is really into Killer Frost. He’d really like to know a little more about her. He’d really like to figure out how to make her come out, as well.”
Purcell confirmed Panabaker’s revelation, saying that if there’s one character Mick has the hots for, it’s Killer Frost. “He’s had a crush on her for quite some time,” the actor said (via Extra). “Whether or not that will develop into anything, I doubt it, because I’m not sure if Rory can be tamed.”
The crossover will also reunite Caitlin with Stein (Victor Garber), who she grew closer to in Season 1 of “The Flash.” “Victor and I — I have so much love for that man — have some more great stuff in the crossover,” Panabaker said. “And there is a really beautiful moment where he says, ‘The last wedding we went to together was yours.’” “I feel like Ronnie (Robbie Amell) is gone, but not forgotten,” Panabaker said of Caitlin’s late husband who also bonded with Stein as former half of Firestorm.
As seen in the official trailer and promo photos for the crossover, Caitlin also gets to be Iris’ (Candice Patton) maid of honor. But because Earth-X villains crash Iris and Barry’s (Grant Gustin) wedding just a few moments after the ceremony starts, Caitlin’s role as maid honor doesn’t last long. Although the wedding apparently doesn’t go as planned, Panabaker said that it’s a “real honor” for Caitlin to be chosen by Iris as her maid of honor.
“Crisis on Earth-X” airs across two nights. It begins with “Supergirl” and “Arrow” on Monday, Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. EST, and ends with “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
