Florence Colgate is 'Britain's Most Beautiful Face:' What Makes Her Face So Perfect?

Florence Colgate is the girl with the perfect face, according to the scientific formula for beauty.

Colgate, 18, has been chosen from more than 8,000 entrants in a competition organized by ITV's Lorraine program and has been named Britain's most beautiful face.

Contestants in the hunt to find Britain's most naturally beautiful face were judged without make-up and were barred entry if they had had plastic surgery or chemical enhancement.

The teenager won her title following a public vote after she reached the final three of a competition to find the country's most beautiful face without make-up.

Colgate is the scientific definition of beauty, as a woman's face is said to be most attractive when the space between her pupils is just under half the width of her face from ear to ear. Florence scores a 44 percent ratio.

Experts also believe the relative distance between eyes and mouth should be just over a third of the measurement from hairline to chin. Florence's ratio is 32.8 percent.

The girl blessed with the optimum proportions for beauty has a weekend job in a seaside chip shop where family and customers persuaded her to enter the competition.

As a result of her top placement in the completion, Colgate won a trip to a London model agency and will appear on billboards and posters in Superdrug stores across the country.

'Florence has all the classic signs of beauty . . . she has large eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and a fair complexion, Carmen Lefèvre, from the University of St Andrews perception laboratory in the School of Psychology, told the Daily Mail.

Singer Shania Twain and actresses Liz Hurley and Jessica Alba are also ranked among perfectly formed celebrities.
