A 21-year-old man in Florida admitted to fatally stabbing his mother this week because he claimed "she never pushed me to be a man," authorities said.

Matthew Sisley is accused of fatally stabbing his mother at her home in Kissimmee, Florida, and injuring his sister when she tried to intervene in the attack Tuesday afternoon, according to court documents obtained by NBC News and a statement from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office. The names of the victims were not disclosed.

While responding to a report of a stabbing Tuesday, deputies found the mother dead inside the residence and her daughter with severe lacerations to her hand.

Sisley was not at the scene when police arrived but was located by authorities a short distance away from the incident.

Deputies placed the 21-year-old in custody and brought him for questioning to the sheriff's office, where Sisley confessed to intentionally stabbing his mother and accidentally stabbing his sister.

When asked by investigators why he stabbed his mother, Sisley replied, "Because she never pushed me to be a man," according to the police statement.

Sisley showed no remorse for his actions. He told investigators that he did not regret killing his mother and "would do it again," authorities said.

The 21-year-old is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail on charges of domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and premeditated murder, jail records showed.

Sisley is being held in jail without bond.

According to a motion for pre-trial detention that was filed by state prosecutors Wednesday in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Osceola County, Sisley's sister witnessed the deadly attack.

"The victim heard their mother screaming for her life. When the victim came out of her room, she observed the defendant stabbing their mother multiple times with a kitchen knife," stated the motion obtained by NBC News. "The victim attempted to intervene and sustained multiple deep lacerations to her hands from the defendant cutting her."

Sisley's sister told investigators her brother, who lived a few houses away at their grandmother's home, woke her up Tuesday morning by knocking on a rear glass door, the affidavit said.

Sisley told his sister that he had not slept in days, she told authorities.

The sister then helped him sleep and went to a hospital where her brother was the previous day, looking for his phone. It was not explained in the affidavit why Sisley was hospitalized.

When the sister returned, she saw Sisley stabbing their mother by a door near the garage. She tried to intervene but was accidentally stabbed and thrown to the ground by her brother. The 21-year-old allegedly threatened his sister's life afterward and demanded car keys, the affidavit stated.
