A Florida man was arrested after he tortured his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter in multiple ways.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Andrew Ross Celaius did not let the child sleep and when she drifted off, he used multiple ways to shock her awake.

Describing the abuse as "systematic torture" during a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff David Morgan said, "In some instances, it's indescribable. It's the thing nightmares are made of and no child should ever be subjected to this," ABC-affiliated television station WEAR TV reported.

After searching the home, investigators found CCTV footage in which the accused was seen abusing the child. One of the videos showed Celaius throwing water bottles at the girl to wake her up while another showed the accused shooting the child with an airsoft gun. He also allegedly used a lighter to burn the child and wore a werewolf mask during the abuse. Officials said the most disturbing video, however, showed the victim wearing a dog shock collar.

"One of the more disturbing videos shows the child actually wearing a dog collar. Then you can hear the sounds of the dog collar being activated and then the shrieking, the pain the child has suffered from the result of this,” said Chip Simmons , chief deputy of the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Morgan said, "A werewolf mask and the collar that the Chief described is a tasing collar for dogs. If you wanna think about something that you can do to a child that would terrorize them, this child lived through that.”

He added that the incident came to light after the victim’s mother brought the child to a hospital with the suspicion of ringworm. Doctor, however, immediately determined the marks were from burns, KRON 4 reported.

It wasn't clear when Celaius was arrested, but he was charged with aggravated child abuse, while the victim’s mother was charged with neglect. The sheriff’s office said the woman was bonded out and was since cooperating with the investigation.

Another man named Eric Furnans was also taken into custody in connection to the case as he helped Celaius destroy evidence. Officials believe the accused may have also sexually abused the child.

"No doubt about it, we are going to pursue this case vigorously and attain justice for this child," said Assistant State Attorney John Molchan.

The child was in the custody of her biological father.
