Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be turning 44 on Feb. 24, but he decided to celebrate his birthday early this year. The retired boxer hosted a wild, futuristic event in Florida on Thursday and had a star-studded guest list.

Held at The Venue in Fort Lauderdale, the bash was christened “Floyd's Futuristic 44th Birthday Extravaganza." Among the guests in attendance were Rick Ross, Larsa Pippen, Jacquees and the brother of President Joe Biden, Frank Biden, TMZ reported.

Mayweather went all out for his birthday bash this year, although he shared the party with Jas Mathur. The latter spent $700,000 from his own pocket for the event.

With Mayweather partying without a mask during his birthday celebration, however, questions on whether proper health protocols were followed have been raised. Per TMZ, there was a COVID-19 safety protocol in place. Guests were screened at the door and given temperature checks, and social distancing was enforced.

“Individually, there were COVID-19 checks for each person ahead of time,” an unnamed source told Page Six. “People that were traveling were asked to be tested and travel safely. People were also handed ‘TMT’ branded masks upon entry to the event.”

Outside his birthday bash, Mayweather was unsurprisingly asked about the status of his exhibition bout with YouTuber Logan Paul. He revealed that it is still on the table and that they are just waiting for the right time to stage it.

"I know it's going to happen," Mayweather said. "We just want make sure everything is right and everything is where it should be."

Photos and updates from Mayweather’s birthday bash unsurprisingly circulated on social media, drawing comments from fans and peers. Some questioned whether the guests followed COVID-19 protocols, while others appeared to throw some shade at Mayweather, such as Conor McGregor, who greeted the boxing icon for his birthday.

“Happy Birthday Floyd! We miss you on Forbes,” McGregor’s Instagram post read.

Mayweather did not make Forbes’ most recent list of top-earning athletes. Prior to the latest poll, Mayweather had topped the list practically every year, especially when he was still actively fighting.

But it is possible Mayweather may not even care about being on the list. The fact remains that he still has the money to spare and is even richer than the UFC star. Mayweather’s 44th birthday bash is clear proof of it.
