Floyd Mayweather Jr. Possibly Preparing For Pacquiao Rematch, Footage Reveals

Floyd Mayweather Jr. just showed at the gym and proved that he's more than ready to face welterweight rival, Manny Pacquiao. The undisputed champion has shown naysayers that he is still on top form since his last fight in 2017 against UFC superstar Connor McGregor.

The 42-year-old fighter recently posted footage of him training in his Instagram account. The 18-second video has already garnered more than 2-million views, with some of his fans clamoring for another rematch.

Recently, Pacquiao and Mayweather were involved in social media tiff, after Mayweather called out the Filipino champ for using his name to gain publicity. Manny responded by saying that Floyd went to his fight and disputed that it's not him that's calling the attention.

Pacquiao then challenged the retired Mayweather for a rematch, but the American's camp declined and said that "Floyd's not coming out of retirement." Jr. was at ringside last month when Manny won against fellow American pugilist Keith Thurman on a split decision victory.

The recent Instagram post has fuelled speculations that Mayweather is seriously considering the rematch. Floyd's social media defenders however fired back, and collectively told rematch enthusiasts that it's not going to happen.

Still, most of the comments on his Instagram post urge Mayweather to fight Pacquiao. One user said that a "bag doesn't hit back, but Pacman does." Another one hinted that Jr. does not "want that smoke with a healthy Pacman who aged in the ring better than you."

Despite the clamor, Mayweather's camp has maintained that no rematch is going to happen. Floyd did state a cryptic message when he was interviewed on the sidelines during Gervonta Davis's win against Ricardo Nunez. When Jim Gray asked Jr. when he will be having a comeback, the TMT CEO said, “We don’t know … only time will tell.”

As for Pacquiao, he is being called out himself by former opponents Keith Thurman and Jeff Horn. The former undisputed champ called out Manny on Tuesday after he was seen in the public for the first time since their fight on July 21.

Horn's camp also called out the new WBA welterweight champ in a rematch. The Australian professional boxer defeated the Filipino icon in 2017 via unanimous decision. The match drew a lot of criticism on how it was scored.

Pacquiao's camp has since disputed the decision, saying that Manny won the fight. The fighting senator was also put in the same predicament against Timothy Bradley in 2012.
