There’s no doubting that the bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is the biggest fight of 2017, but it can’t yet be called the No.1 bout of all time. If the latest ticket sales are any indication of what Saturday’s pay-per-view buys will look like, then the 2015 super-fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has a chance to still reign supreme.

Just two days before McGregor and Mayweather are finally scheduled to meet face-to-face in the ring, plenty of seats for the fight are still available with Ticketmaster. Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena is expected to be sold out this weekend, though tickets can be had both at face value and on the secondary ticket market.

The cheapest seats were being sold for $500, and they are no longer available at Ticketmaster. The same goes for the most expensive tickets, which had been going for $10,000. That leaves tickets priced at $2,500, $3,500 and $5,000.

Tickets for Mayweather-Pacquiao on May 2, 2015 sold out in about a minute, though it isn’t fair to compare the two bouts. Only 500 tickets were made available to the public two years ago with seats ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 each.

“I'm actually tired of hearing that question,” CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe told the media two weeks ago at Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas when asked about slow ticket sales. “Right now, we have over $60 million in the box office. What part of that remotely looks like ticket sales are slow?

“This isn't a damn Rolling Stones concert. That's the only thing that sells out in seconds. We're talking about tickets that go from $500 to $10,000. That's an expensive ticket.”

Mayweather and Pacquiao smashed PPV records in 2015 by generating 4.6 million buys. Some have speculated that Saturday’s bout could easily outdo that fight, possibly selling close to five million PPVs.

Even if that doesn’t come to fruition, Ellerbe believes Saturday’s event will break the Mayweather-Pacquiao live-gate record of $72 million.

“I’m very confident we’re going to break that. We’re still four days out and people aren’t even in town,” Ellerbe told The Los Angeles Times Tuesday morning.

McGregor helped set record numbers for the UFC when he last stepped inside the octagon. UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden, which concluded with McGregor knocking out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC lightweight championship, set a live-game record for the promotion with $17.7 million in ticket sales.

As of Thursday morning, the cheapest ticket on StubHub could be had for $1,399, while the best seats are being listed from anywhere between $15,000 and $25,000. As of Wednesday, the most expensive ticket sold on StubHub went for $24,000, via CNN. A $35,000 ticket was sold on the website for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

Mayweather-McGregor is the second-best selling fight of all time, trailing only Mayweather-Pacquiao. Mayweather has been a part of three of StubHub’s top five selling fights all time. The average ticket price for McGregor’s last six fights was $702, via StubHub, while Mayweather commanded $1,484 on average.

The fight will cost $100 to purchase on PPV in HD.
