A Tennessee man, who was the driver for a food delivery service, was accused of putting his testicles in a salsa that a customer ordered from a Mexican restaurant in Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident came to light after a video was published online showing Howard Webb, 31, tampering with the salsa.

Local media WBIR-TV shared the video which shows Webb seemingly putting his testicles in a cup of salsa. The person recording the video is heard giggling and saying: "This is what you get when you give an 89-cents tip for an almost-30-minute drive."

Webb replies by saying: "Oh, it feels good on my [testicles]."

The video, which was first posted on Facebook, was also viewed by Dinner Delivered, the food delivery service, which contacted Maryville Police officers earlier in February about the incident. Addressing the video, Dinner Delivered reportedly wrote on Facebook that Webb was a "rogue independent contractor."

The company also said the driver "engaged in criminal behavior that has resulted in indecent acts performed to customer orders, as well as unverified claims of inserting poisonous substances inside customer drinks."

Webb was charged this week with “adulteration of food, liquids, or pharmaceuticals,” a Class C felony. The exact date when he was arrested remains unclear. If convicted, Webb could face a possible sentence of three to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp told local media the investigation was ongoing.

In September, a food service employee at Comerica Park in Detroit was arrested after a video went viral showing him spitting on a pizza intended for customers. The employee, identified as Jaylon Kerley, was arrested. Detroit Sportservice, which caters at Comerica Park, said at the time that they closed the food station as soon as they learned about the incident.

"As soon as we became aware through social media of potential food tampering, we immediately closed that food stand, disposed of all the product and contacted the Detroit Police Department. We have been told by police that the worker has been arrested and is in custody, pending charges," Detroit Sportservice said.

"Food safety is our top priority and we will take any appropriate action necessary to protect our guests. The worker involved in this matter has been terminated. We intend to pursue all legal action to the fullest extent of the law,” it added.

In another similar incident that took place in March 2018, a Pita Pit employee in Missoula, Montana, was terminated after a video showed her spitting on a customer’s sandwich that triggered a confrontation.

The person who uploaded the video on several social media platforms alleged “this racist employee spit in our food because apparently she was having a bad day and didn’t wanna[sic] be at work!”
