Ford’s (F) pickup truck line may be getting a boost as the automaker is reportedly working on a smaller, more affordable model that has already been seen by its dealers.

The truck, which has a codename of 758, will reportedly be released by Ford at the end of 2021, with a starting price under $20,000, according to Automotive News.

Reportedly, Ford has plans to sell about 100,000 units a year of the truck, which is set to be produced at its plant in Hermosillo, Mexico.

The 758 truck is thought to replace the Fiesta and Focus models as Ford looks to move more of its vehicle line to SUV models. It will also be based on the European version of the Focus, offering two engine options – a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a 2.0-liter powertrain, Motor 1 reported. The truck is speculated to be available with an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

The smaller stature pickup truck was reportedly shown to about 100 of Ford’s largest dealers at an event in Tucson, Arizona, in February, and was well-received.

While no official word about the new truck or its name have been revealed, Ford has been overhauling its vehicle portfolio, reviving the Bronco 4x4, introducing the all-electric Mustang Mach-E, and planning on debuting the electrified F-150 pickup truck.
