Former Danity Kane Member D. Woods Speaks Out On Not Participating In Group’s MTV VMA Reunion
With all the excitement surrounding the Danity Kane reunion at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, questions continued to fly about the status of the group’s missing member, D. Woods.
After the official announcement that the group was getting back together, D. Woods received a great deal of attention on social media concerning her decision not to rejoin the group. In a statement to Us Weekly, D. Woods defended herself against negative reactions, saying she is proud of her fellow group members and supports their new project.
“Much love to the ladies of DK! They have decided to reunite and I, like our amazing fans, will be cheering them on,” the 28-year-old singer told Us Weekly. “For the past couple of years, myself and the other DK members have been working on other projects individually, such as music, film, television, theater and philanthropy and I have recently signed on to several projects that will have me committed for the next year. My latest single ‘Gold Mine’ is now available everywhere!”
She added she would be “open to recording and/or performing with Danity Kane again” and that she appreciates “all the love and support of DK and myself.”
And in a final showing of solidarity with the remaining ladies of DK -- Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex -- she sent a tweet of support their way before the show:
Good to see the ladies keeping the positive vibes going!
