Former ‘Dynasty Warriors’ Developers Reveal New Mobile Game ‘Slashy Hero’ For iOS, Android

The Gentlebros is a new video-game studio whose team is working on an isometric action game for mobile devices called “Slashy Hero,” with a big Halloween theme going for it. What makes The Gentlebros worth mentioning is that some of its team members have worked on big-game franchises such as “Dead or Alive” and “Dynasty Warriors.”

A title like “Slashy Hero” could have many fans expecting a huge “Dynasty Warriors” influence on the mobile game, with plenty of enemies to cut down while a player controls a practically invincible warrior. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, as a report by Pocket Gamer in the U.K. has confirmed that button mashing won’t lead a player to victory and that the game will require him or her to learn a number of different slashing techniques to succeed.

The Halloween theme is featured heavily in the game, and it’s not limited to enemies or the creepy environments players will encounter therein. Players will be able to customize their characters with various costume pieces and even wield some goofy weapons. For example, players can dress their characters like kittens and attack ghouls with giant Popsicle sticks.

“Slashy Hero” will have 36 levels filled with enemies to kill and goodies to find, so it appears to be a game with a decent enough length. Those who truly want to test their slashing skills will want to try out the game’s infinite dungeon mode, whose name indicates it has no end of enemies.

As for the business model, the game’s official Facebook page indicated the title will be a free-to-play download with a number of advertisements, albeit with the option to remove the ads with an in-app purchase. If players can handle a few ads, the game will basically be a free download, which is hardly a bad thing.

Mobile users interested in this isometric action game can download “Slashy Hero” in October, just in time for Halloween. The game will be available on both iOS and Android devices.
