Former 'RHOC' Star Lauri Peterson's Son Attacked In Violent Jailhouse Fight, Attorney Speaks
Josh Waring, the son of former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Lauri Peterson, has been incarcerated since 2016 for allegedly shooting a man at a sober living home. Currently, he is awaiting his trial behind bars. However, while in the facility, Waring experienced some unexpected violence on Oct. 9 when he was brutally attacked at the Orange County jail.
According to TMZ, which obtained footage of the incident, Waring was heading back to his cell when another inmate ambushed him and slashed his face with razor blades.
In the surveillance footage, Waring's attacker can be seen hiding underneath a staircase and then jumping out to attack him. This, in turn, prompts an intense fight which lasted nearly 90 seconds. Per the publication, it was only stopped when prison guards arrived and ordered that both men get on the ground.

Waring's attorney, Joel Garson, told the website that his client was returning to his cell after making a phone call and that during those transitional periods all other inmates should be locked up. He added that confirmation of the other prisoners' whereabouts is supposed to be made via the intercom system, but due to the fact that the video is not accompanied by audio, no one can tell if that rule was followed or not prior to the attack.
As for what could have prompted the attack, Garson hypothesizes that it may have occurred as a retaliatory effort due to the fact that Waring filed a federal lawsuit against Orange County and its Sheriff's Department because he claimed they violated his civil rights while behind bars.
Ultimately, Waring received 20 stitches and a criminal investigation is underway pertaining to the attack. He will also remain behind bars to wait for his official sentencing from his trial. However, Garson revealed to TMZ that they are now considering adding new claims to the lawsuit that they previously filed against Orange County.
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
