Former two-division ONE champion Aung La N Sang returned to the win column with a dominant first-round stoppage victory over ex-UFC world title challenger Yushin Okami on the main card of ONE 163 on Saturday, November 19 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Aung La N Sang controlled the pace from the opening bell before landing a massive knee that sent Okami crashing to the mat.
The ex-middleweight and light heavyweight champion turned it up from there as he battered Okami with ground-and-pound, forcing veteran referee Herb Dean to step in and call a halt to the action.
The stoppage came in at the 1:43 mark of the opening round.
Aung La N Sang bounced back from his decision loss to Vitaly Bigdash back in February and improved to 28-13 in his career, notching his 13th win under the ONE Championship banner.
Okami, meanwhile, fell to 37-15 and lost four of his last five bouts.
After his win, Aung La N Sang paid tribute to the late Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.
Earlier on the card, South Korea's Woo Sung Hoon bounced back from his loss earlier this year by taking out Japan's Yuya Wakamatsu by TKO in the second round.
Kicking off the main card, South Korea's Kwon Won Il stopped Mark "Tyson" Abelardo of New Zealand and the Philippines by TKO at the 3:45 mark of the third round.
