WWE will be hosting the 36th edition of the Royal Rumble this coming Saturday, January 28, and pro wrestling fans have been wondering how the process of eliminations go about during the titular matches for both the men's and women's editions.
Industry veteran and former WWE commentator Jim Ross shed some light on how the creative department determines who gets eliminated at which point in the match and how on his "Grilling with J.R." podcast.
"They [the eliminations] are just about the only thing they do go over, as far as I know, except at the very end, they might do some orchestration there. I know they do. But it's pretty much an ad-lib scenario," he initially mentioned.
"They'll give you the order they want you to leave. They tell you when you're coming and when you're going, so you just need to make sure you know who you're following out to keep everything in order."
