One of the challenges “Fortnite” players have been dying to accomplish is the Rubber Ducky Challenge. The Rubber Ducky Challenge is one of the assignments from the 14 Days of Summer event, and it asks players to find a “tiny rubber ducky” hidden in a loading screen, which was released as part of the event. Finding the rubber ducky and searching it completes the challenge and award players with the Sparkle Soundtrack music for their lobbies.

The challenge seems simple enough should you know where to look, but the problem is that only one player can get the rubber ducky in each match. This means that you will likely encounter several other players in the same area with the same goal as you, and they’ll most likely be armed to the teeth and stop at nothing to get the rubber ducky.

It’s proven to be a difficult challenge to complete, but Epic Games is apparently working on a fix for it. An occasional reminder about the rubber ducky challenge that previews the reward was shared last Sunday via Twitter. Around five minutes after, a follow-up tweet said that the challenge was too difficult and that a fix would be implemented within the next few days.

Epic Games seems to be taking this seriously as the “Fortnite” board on Trello that tracks issues and fixes now lists the rubber ducky fiasco as a bug. It’s been classified as a bug that’s being investigated, and a response on Reddit from an Epic Games social coordinator said that the situation was entirely unintentional.

“Only one player per game can complete the 14 Days of Summer, Day 13 Challenge,” the description on Trello read. “Once the first player of the game completes the challenge, the tiny rubber ducky disappears.”

For now, some players have suggested that if you really want to complete the challenge before the fix is applied, you should simply head into an Arena match and try your luck. The more competitive nature of the Arena game mode may mean that fewer players will be searching for the rubber ducky, allowing you the chance to find it first. To find it, simply look for it in the spot shown in the image below.
