Razer and Fossil have collaborated and announced a limited-edition Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch gaming-centered wearable that triggers gamer mode at the CES 2022.
The smart wearable from Fossil and Razer, themed after the latter's gaming PC, is basically the same as last year's Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch with a little upgrade. For those wondering if it features RGB lighting, unfortunately, it does not.
However, the limited-edition Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch sports three Razer-branded watch faces, which includes a Chroma face that wearers can customize to go with other Chroma products from Razer. While it is not RGB lighting technically, the limited-edition wearable allows users to enable wave and breathe lighting patterns.
As for the other two models, one features an analog face with the Razer logo that provides time in Razer-themed font. The other one, a 44mm watch, sports a matte black case and a couple of interchangeable black and neon green straps.
The Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch is the first wearable to house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 Plus. Because of this processor, users can get faster load times, much better power management and a far better experience.
The limited-edition watch runs on the latest Google Wear OS version with plans to upgrade the operating system sometime between mid and late 2022. One of the key selling features of the Gen 6 smartwatch is its ability to charge its battery from zero to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Other features of the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch include GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, heart rate sensor and a SpO2 blood oxygen sensor. Users will soon receive support for Amazon's Alexa voice assistant.
Alexa is pre-loaded on the watch and will be activated when Amazon adds the version of its voice assistant on the Google App Store. The Limited Edition Razer X Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch also sports a 1.28-inch touchscreen display and a feature that offers contactless payments.
Furthermore, the Razer x Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch will be available from Jan. 10, with the 44mm black case retailing at $329. The smartwatch will only have 1,337 units.
