‘The Fosters’ Season 3 Spoilers: Is Jesus Dead? Promo Video Hints At Jake T. Austin’s Future On The Show
“The Fosters” Season 3 is going to have a rocky start. A new promo video for the premiere shows Jesus (Jake T. Austin) after the dramatic car accident in the finale, and his future isn't looking good.
When the commercial starts, Steph (Teri Polo) is shown arriving at the crash scene and looks scared when she sees Jesus. He is lying on a stretcher and his face is covered in blood. It isn't clear if he is alive, but he's definitely not okay. He is strapped down to the stretcher and is wearing a neck brace while paramedics load him into an ambulance.
His face is covered just enough that it might not even be Jake T. Austin in the stretcher, but a body double. Austin announced that he was leaving “The Fosters” at the end of Season 2 in March. It would seem that the finale was his last episode on the ABC Family drama, but creator Bradley Bredeweg tweeted after the finale, “Just remember. Not everything is what it first appears to be on #TheFosters.”
That scene on the stretcher might be the last time we see Jesus. There are no other scenes with him in the 30-second promo video. Steph tells Lena (Sheri Saum) that she’s “just trying to hold it together,” and Jude (Hayden Byerly) reveals that he wants to learn how to shoot a gun.
“I just don’t want to be scared,” Jude says.
Elsewhere, it looks like Lena and Stef’s marriage might be threatened by Monte (Annika Marks) when Lena says they don’t have to tell Stef about their kiss. It looks like they also might be taking on another foster child, AJ (Tom Williamson), and Callie (Maia Mitchell) won’t deal with that very well.
“I won’t let you take advantage of my family,” Callie tells AJ.
