Krispy Kreme is giving vaccinated customers the chance to get two free donuts every day for a week. The restaurant chain is offering free donuts Aug. 31 through Sept. 5 to customers who show their vaccination cards.

To receive two free Krispy Kreme donuts every day for a week, customers will have to show proof that they have received at least one dose of the available COVID-19 vaccines.

The week-long “Show Your Heart” campaign will offer vaccinated customers an Original Glazed Doughnut and an Original Glazed Heart Doughnut.

“We all hoped we’d be near the end of this pandemic by now. We’re not. So, please consider getting vaccinated if you’ve not done so already. And then enjoy and share two amazing doughnuts with our heartfelt thanks,” Dave Skena, the Chief Marketing Officer at Krispy Kreme, said in a statement.

The latest giveaway comes after the donut chain announced a campaign in March which offered customers who received at least one shot of the vaccine a free Original Glazed doughnut every day. Krispy Kreme will continue the campaign for the rest of the year.

The push to encourage more customers to get vaccinated comes after the Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for COVID-19.

“The FDA’s approval of this vaccine is a milestone as we continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. While this and other vaccines have met the FDA’s rigorous, scientific standards for emergency use authorization, as the first FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine, the public can be very confident that this vaccine meets the high standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality the FDA requires of an approved product,” Janet Woodcock, the acting FDA commissioner, said in a statement on Monday.

“While millions of people have already safely received COVID-19 vaccines, we recognize that for some, the FDA approval of a vaccine may now instill additional confidence to get vaccinated. Today’s milestone puts us one step closer to altering the course of this pandemic in the U.S.”

The Pfizer vaccine has been officially approved by the FDA for individuals 16 years of age and older. However, the vaccine is still available under emergency use authorization for individuals ages 12 to 15 years old as well as third dose for immunocompromised people.
