Fast-food chain McDonald's announced Monday that it will be offering customers a chance to win a "McGold Card" as a part of its "SZN of Sharing" event.

The McGold Card allows its holder to receive free McDonald's orders for life. SZN of Sharing will also offer deals on items and a cozy merch drop.

The chance to win a McGold Card gets underway from Dec. 5-25. Every purchase made through the McDonald's app will enter customers into a contest to win a McGold Card. Winners of the contest will also be given three McGold Cards to give out to whoever they choose.

"Our fans have been fascinated by the lore of the McGold Card and if it really exists. And now, we'll make this McDonald's legend a reality for our fans by giving them the ultimate holiday gift – a chance to win a card and then share access to it with three of their family or friends," Tariq Hassan, McDonald's USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, said in a press release.

"Just by using the McDonald's App, everyone can experience the joy that comes with sharing McDonald's this holiday season," Hassan added.

The McGold Card was first introduced during a similar contest in 2018. At the time, the card was valued at $52,350 and allowed two meals per week. It is unclear how much this year's card is worth.

McDonald's is encouraging customers to use their McGold Card to share with friends, family, and neighbors.

"Treat your work bestie to a morning McCafé coffee pick-me-up? Surprise your neighbors with mid-week McNuggets? Delight unsuspecting folks behind you in the Drive Thru with free dinner?" the press release said.
