Free Rita’s Italian Ice 2015: How To Get A Free Treat On The First Day Of Spring, March 20
The first day of spring is a major celebration for Rita’s Italian Ice fans. Not only is it the end of winter, but it’s Rita's First Day of Spring Free Italian Ice Giveaway. Customers can go to one of 600 Rita’s locations to get a free Italian ice on March 20 from noon to 9 p.m. local time.
The celebration entitles all customers to one free cup of Italian ice in a flavor of their choice. The treats will come in a “limited-edition First Day of Spring cup,” according to a press release. The cup, shown on the Rita’s website, encourages users to post pictures of their Italian ice on social media with the hashtag #ritasfirstdayofspring, which will enter them in a contest to win free Italian ice for a year. Fans will be able to vote for a winners each week until April 11. Three runners-up also will be awarded a month’s worth of free gelati, blendinis or mistos (winner’s choice).
This is the 23rd year that Rita’s Italian Ice has celebrated the first day of spring with free frozen treats. In order to get the treat, customers just have to go to their local Rita’s. They do not need a special coupon or anything to receive the discount. Be aware, though, most locations are only giving away Italian ice for free. Soft serve ice cream, cones, gelati, blendinis and mistos are not part of the offer. Each customer who is there in person is entitled to a one free water ice, so don’t send a friend to pick one up for you.
