Freeform’s ‘The Thing About Harry’ Premiere: Cast, Synopsis, Trailer
Freeform has a dose of romance ready for Valentine’s Day weekend. The network will debut a new movie, “The Thing About Harry,” a gay romance, on Saturday night.
Per the network: “‘The Thing About Harry’ tells the story of high school enemies, uber-jock Harry and out-and-proud Sam, who are forced to share a car ride to their hometown for a friend’s engagement party on Valentine’s Day.”
It turns out that Sam used to always make fun of Harry for being gay in high school. Sounds like the worst situation, right? Well, it turns out that Sam was trying to hide his own insecurities. He has since come out as bisexual.
“Things take a turn when Sam learns Harry has come out,” the logline teases. “Stuck spending the night together in a roadside motel, Harry and Sam begin to develop a deep friendship—with neither admitting a potential romance may be brewing—leaving them wondering if one road trip could change the rest of their lives.”
The sweet movie follows them over the next few years as their relationship takes some interesting turns. Sam and Harry are both gay, but they are still very different. Sam is a neurotic, type-A guy with political aspirations. Harry is much more laid back and has less clear goals. Can they overcome both their pasts and their differences?
