French search engine company 1PlusV set to sue Google, claims $423 million in damages
Google will be sued by a French search engine company 1PlusV at the Paris Commercial Court, who claimed the American search engine giant is abusing its prevailing market position by downgrading and blocking competing services.
The French company, which functions for the French speakers, said that Google blacklisted nearly 30 1PlusV-made search engines from Google’s search results between 2007 and 2010. The French company believes it has suffered irreparable damages although some of the engines recently have been “white-listed.”
The company has claimed about $423 million as damage charges from Google.
The American search engine giant’s search and advertisement procedures are being probed by the US competition authorities as well as the EU, the Brothersoft News reported.
