'Frozen 2' Update: When Will Disney Release First Trailer?
“Frozen 2’s” plot may not remain a mystery by the end of this month. The first trailer of the animated film is expected to be released by Dec. 25. It’s been five years since the first movie from the franchise turned out to be a tidal wave of success around the world, and now a sequel is finally going to hit theaters.
Disney has, so far, remained tight-lipped about the trailer of “Frozen 2,” but according to a post on Twitter by Collider’s Editor-In-Chief Steven Weintraub, the first-look video should be out before the 25th of this month.
The plot of “Frozen 2” is currently unknown, but according to Forbes, Disney does have the choice of upping the “emotional melodrama” of the film with some “harsh plot turns.” Movies like “Kung Fu Panda 2” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2” did this, and the films were well received by the audience, the report points out.
The other possibility is “Frozen 2” leaning towards a Young Adult romance. Since Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) is already in a relationship, the report suggested that it may be time to explore Elsa’s (voiced by Idina Menzel) love life. No matter what route the film takes it is sure to do well at the box office, given the huge popularity of the franchise.
Apart from the plot, the one thing most fans would be looking forward to in “Frozen 2” are the songs. In a previous interview with Variety, the film’s co-director Jennifer Lee confirmed that they had four songs ready.
The song “Let It Go” from the first “Frozen” film was a big hit, and they apparently have a song in line with that. Lee said that this new song is an “evolution,” but she was quick to add that it is “it’s own song.”
Talking about what the story will be about, Lee said that Elsa and Anna will go “far out of Arendelle.” The director also teased that the sequel will be “bigger” and “more epic” than the first.
According to a report by Screen Rant, Disney will release the official synopsis together with the first trailer. That means the fans will get to know and see just enough by this month end to get excited about the film.
All the original cast members will be returning for “Frozen 2,” with a few additions. The two confirmed newcomers are Evan Rachael and Sterling K. Brown. Details about their respective characters are currently being kept under wraps.
