Will there be a “Frozen 3”? The sequel confirmed the journey is over, and there is no need to continue the story. However, the filmmakers have teased in a recent interview that they may be tempted to return to the franchise at some point in the future to make a third instalment.

In an recent interview with Cinema Blend, “Frozen 2” directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck shared their thoughts about making another movie from the franchise. Producer Peter Del Vecho said that the franchise has come to an end with the sequel, but the directors were open to the idea.

There is a scene in the sequel towards the end in which Olaf (Voice by Josh Gad) asks Elsa (Voice by Idina Menzel) if there are more adventures waiting for them. In reply, the queen says they are done. This dialogue is a not-so-subtle- hint for the fans that the story of the sisters has ended.

Lee, however, offered the fans some hope by saying that the fans should wait for a year before asking Buck about “Frozen 3.” The directors may take a call about whether or not to return to the franchise after a year.

While the fans are one aspect to consider when it comes to making the third instalment, the other aspect is the studio. “Frozen 2” set a new box office record on its opening weekend for Disney Animation, Screen Rant reported. While some fans believe that the sequel doesn’t measure up to the first movie, the box office collections may force the studio to consider making one more film.

The cast members too appear eager to make “Frozen 3.” In an interview with USA Today, Menzel said that the ending of the sequel is “not the end of the journey” for Elsa. The actress teased that it was just the beginning of a new life filled with freedom.
