'Full House' Star Dave Coulier Shares 'Drunk' Injuries; Celebrates 2 Years Of Sobriety [Photo]
Dave Coulier shared a photo of his drunk injuries on Instagram, noting that he is celebrating two years of "alcohol free" life.
In the photo, the 62-year-old actor can be seen wounded on his nose, head, and very close to his left eye. "I was a drunk. Yes. An alcoholic," Coulier captioned the photo shared Thursday. "I’ve been alcohol free since January 1, 2020."
Coulier recalled how he was "life of the party" when he used to drink, adding, "I could make people laugh until they fell down. In this picture I was the one who fell down."
"Not because I was playing hockey or doing the things I love - like chopping wood or doing construction, golfing, fishing or flying airplanes," he added. "I was hammered and fell, going up some stairs made of stone."
The actor went on to share how much he used to love alcohol but thaat it didn't love him back.
"I was always the “final final” guy in the room. The 8 hours of drinking, laughter and funny stupidity was followed by two days of feeling like a bowl of dog mess. I loved booze, but it didn’t love me back."
Finally, he decided to take care of his own health and think about his family and friends. Moreover, he noted that it was his friends and wife, photographer Melissa Bring, who helped him kick the dependence on alcoholism.
"I decided to make a decision for my own well-being, my family and for those around me who I love so dearly," he wrote. "The mental and physical withdrawal were big challenges for me, but I was supported by @melissacoulier and friends who had already made the journey."
Coulier concluded the post by thanking his wife for being by his side throughout the journey.
"The psychological and physical transformation has been amazing," the “Full House” star concluded. "The sky is more blue, my heart is no longer closed, and I enjoy making people laugh until they fall down more than ever before. Thank you, Melissa, for being by my side. I love you."
Celebs took to the comments section to share their reactions.
Actor Scott Weinger simply dropped clapping and red heart emojis to share his support while actress Candace Cameron Bure commented, "Love you and always proud of you." Actor Josh Peck wrote, "Much respect my friend, love you."
On the work front, Coulier was a regular on the "Fuller House" TV series from 2016 to 2020. He also lent his voice to the animated TV series, "Robot Chicken" from 2005 to 2019.
