‘Fuller House’ Season 2 Spoilers: Two Original Characters To Return; Jason Marsden Reacts To Nelson Recasting

D.J.’s house is about to get a little fuller.

Two characters from the original “Full House” series will be joining the Netflix revival when “Fuller House” returns for its second season, according to TVLine. But which San Francisco natives will be visiting D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) in the upcoming installment?

Well, the mother of three will get a blast from the past when her ex-boyfriend Nelson (originally played by Jason Marsden) comes to town along with D.J.’s former bestie Kathy Santoni (originally portrayed by Anne Marie McEvoy). But when the two Van Atta Junior High alums make their “Fuller House” debut come Season 2 fans will notice that Nelson and Kathy look a little different. No, that’s not because the awkward teens we used to know have transformed into full-fledged adults, it’s because the characters will be played by new actors.

So, who will play the parts? Well, the actors have yet to be unveiled. But the artists who initially portrayed the roles are speaking out regarding the recast. Marsden took to Twitter after the news broke to share his thoughts:

“Man. News travels fast!” the actor tweeted before stating that the “real reason” he’s not reviving his role will be revealed in his Instagram Stories.

Marsden teased several reasons as to why he’s not reviving his role on Instagram (which is private), revealing that only one of his numerous explanations is the true answer. Some of Marsden’s reasonings ranged from the Olsen twins warning him not to partake in the sitcom, to Netflix not giving him permission to direct and that he’d just rather watch the revival instead of acting in it.

Fair enough, Marsden! Fair enough.

Netflix has not yet revealed a Season 2 premiere date for “Fuller House.”
