Galaxy Note 10.1: A Pre-Mobile World Congress Sneak Peek
Samsung is having a hard time keeping secrets of its Galaxy Note 10.1-inch tablet under wraps. Samsung bringing the Galaxy Note brand to tablets was already expected, but what we didn’t expect was to have an image of the device barely a few days before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is scheduled to kick off.
With the rising amount of tablet options from Samsung, we are unable to see the importance of a 10.1-inch Galaxy Note, which is likely to operate on the same level as as every other future Samsung tablet.
The leak came from blogger Anders Frick, who somehow got a peek into Samsung’s hotel room in Barcelona where he managed to snap a photo that reads, It's 10.1, it's Galaxy Note along with the new tablet. Not much is known about the device. However, there seem to be a note taking application nested on the screen.
If Samsung truly plans to release a version of the Galaxy Note in 10.1-inch tablet form, then does it mean the company will get rid of the Galaxy Tab line of tablets? It would be senseless to have two tablets with the same screen display size and functionality out in the market, but only with different names. Then again, there were rumors of a 11.6-inch tablet destined to be announced by Samsung at MWC 2012, so who knows, the Galaxy Tab could be stepping up to that level while the Galaxy Note 10.1 takes its place.
The Mobile World Congress 2012 conference kicks off on Monday in Barcelona, Spain, and will run from Feb. 27 to March 1, 2012. We can’t wait to see what Samsung and other manufactures have in store for us. With the rising competition in the mobile space, there is a very high chance MWC 2012 will not disappoint.
