Galaxy S8 Release Date, Pre-Order Sale: Target Ad Shows Free Samsung Gear VR With Purchase
Target’s weekly newspaper ad was leaked recently and it confirms a couple of pre-order deals for Samsung’s Galaxy S8. The leaked ad shows that customers will be able to get the new Gear VR headset for free.
The weekly Target circular newspaper ad for April 2 until April 8 has made its way online thanks to The Couponing Couple. It clearly shows that those who pre-order the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8+ can get the new Gear VR headset for free.
Simply based on the photo, it can clearly be seen that this is the new version of the Gear VR headset as it’s accompanied by the new motion controller. The VR headset is listed as having a value of $129.99.
Target will also be including a $100 gift card which customers can use to purchase items from any of the retailer’s stores. Unfortunately, the leaked ad doesn’t show how much the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ will cost from Target, as pointed out by Android Authority.
It was previously shared by Evan Blass on Twitter that the Galaxy S8 will cost €799, while the S8+ will cost €899. If converted to the current exchange rate, the S8 could cost around US$861 while the S8+ could sell for around US$970.
There’s a catch to the promo, however. Customers must pre-ordered the Galaxy S8/S8+ through Verizon device payment, AT&T Next or Sprint’s 24-month Installment plan. The same stipulation also applies to Target’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge promo where customers can get a $150 gift card.
Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on March 29 during its Unpacked event in New York City. The most popular rumor right now is that both handsets will finally go on sale on April 21.
