‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Peter Dinklage To Appear In Both ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Marvel Movies?
Tyrion Lannister may be heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Game Of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage is in early talks to star in a key role in Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” according to a report by Variety. He is set to appear in both films -- “Avengers: Infinity War” and its untitled sequel. Marvel made no comment on the casting news.
Marvel is planning to shoot both movies back-to-back. Given that “Game Of Thrones” recently wrapped up shooting its seventh season, Dinklage now has enough time on his hands to shoot the Marvel films. Filming for “Avengers: Infinity War” starts early summer this year. Additionally, “Game Of Thrones” Season 7 is slated to premiere in July.
The 47-year-old actor will reportedly play a crucial role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Plot details of “Avengers: Infinity War” are not known at this point of time. The only thing that is known is that the Avengers will battle Thanos (voiced by Josh Brolin).
Although Dinklage is new to the MCU, he has been a part of a Marvel comic books-inspired movie. He played the role of the villainous Bolivar Trask in “X-Men: Days Of Future Past.” However, the X-Men movies are not a part of the MCU.
Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the third and fourth Avengers feature film. The first two movies were helmed by Joss Whedon. Joe and Anthony Russo have directed the second and third Captain American movies.
Apart from Dinklage, the cast of the upcoming Avengers includes all Marvel superheroes such as Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.).
“Infinity War” is set to change the MCU significantly. Indeed, even the superheroes that make up the Avengers have changed since the first movie.
“Avengers: Infinity War” is scheduled to hit theatres on May 4, 2018.
