‘Game of Thrones: Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing': HBO Reveals New ‘GoT’ Season Four Special [VIDEO]
HBO is airing a new “Game of Thrones” special Sunday night that will include an in-depth look at season four. “Game of Thrones: Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing” will air at 8:45 p.m. EST ahead of the new episode of “True Detective.”
HBO teased “GoT: A Foreshadowing” on Instagram with a behind-the-scenes look at a few scenes from the new season. In the preview, fans get a quick look at Joffrey Lannister and Margery Tyrell’s wedding, Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Bran Stark, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark and Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper. The trailer focuses a bit more on Daenerys Targaryen and ends with a glimpse of several confrontations.
“GoT: A Foreshadowing” will be a 15-minute special that will include scenes from the new season as well as interviews with the cast and crew. According to the “Making Game of Thrones” production diary, fans should expect some answers to what’s next in the series, an interview with Emilia Clarke discussing Daenerys and her dragons, as well as the series creators discussing the amount of action in the fourth season.
While much of the brief special will focus on storylines developed over the course of the first three seasons, “GoT: A Foreshadowing” will also spend plenty of time on a new character who will play an important role in the fourth season. The Red Viper, Prince of Dorne, will make his debut in the new season and will be an important ally to Tyrion. Oberyn is a member of House Martell and this will be the first introduction to Dorne, located in southern Westeros, and the family as they play an important role in the latter half of “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
The “Game of Thrones: Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing” special airs Sunday at 8:45 p.m. EST. The “GoT” season four premiere airs on April 6.
