'Game Of Thrones' Season 6: Production May Return To Ballintoy Harbor; Kit Harington And Aidan Gillen Spotted
Leaked pictures from the production set of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 show Aidan Gillen’s trailer in a filming location that is expected to show a familiar castle of Westeros. [Spoiler Alert!] Kit Harington and some of the other cast members were also reportedly spotted in Belfast, Ireland.
According to a report by WinterIsComing, the production crew of the show may be returning to Ballintoy Harbor Ireland. The location was previously used to film scenes of the Iron Islands. The report suggests that a few new characters from the Iron Islands -- like Victarion and Euron Greyjoy -- may be seen on the show next year.
One of the leaked pictures from the production set shows the trailer of Gillen (Petyr Baelish). The report speculates that the set near Moneyglass in Ireland is for Winterfell and adds that Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) may end up hiding out at the castle the same way her brothers had done previously.
Turner was seen with some of her other cast members in Belfast Sunday, WatchersOnTheWall reports. Some of the cast members who were photographed together were Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Faye Marsay (Waif). The report notes that even though the Waif became Jaqen H’ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) previously, the character may be returning in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
Harington (Jon Snow) was also reportedly seen in Belfast recently along with Rose Leslie (Ygritte). The actors apparently did not want to be photographed together. The idea that Jon Snow may return in some form in the next season has been a subject of a lot of debate among fans, but so far, there has been no official confirmation that the character will return.
Meanwhile, the casting for the show continues. According to a report by WinterIsComing, the producers are now looking for babies between the ages of nine and 12 months and kids between the ages of eight and 14. The casting call reportedly also mentions “twins,” but the report adds that this may have been done for practical purposes to help with the filming.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is expected to air sometime in April 2016. After introducing the Sand Snakes in the previous season, the producers are set to introduce more new characters next year. Actors like Ian McShane and Max Von Sydow have joined the TV series.
