'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Production Update: Faye Marsay, Tom Wlaschiha And Other Actors Reportedly Spotted In Girona
New cast member Pilou Asbæk spoke about being selected to play Euron Greyjoy in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, in a recent interview. Meanwhile, many of the cast members of the show have reportedly been seen in the city of Girona, where filming of the popular TV series is currently taking place.
In an interview with Soundvenue, Asbæk said that he cannot tell much about the TV series because he has signed a non-disclosure agreement. He confirmed that he will be playing the one-eyed pirate Euro Greyjoy in Season 6 and that he met the two executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss over coffee to discuss his casting.
The actor revealed that he was able to land the role because the producers liked his work in the “Borgen” TV series. Benioff and Weiss apparently like the show and complemented it by saying that it was the “best television drama” for many years.
Asbæk did not want to reveal that he would be playing Euron in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, but is forced to do so now after people spotted him filming a scene in Ireland. The scene apparently involved people shouting “Euron, Euron.”
Filming for the next season is also taking place in Spain simultaneously. According to a report by WatchersOnTheWall, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Faye Marsay (Waif) and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar) have been spotted in Girona.
There have been no leaked pictures of Marsay and Wlaschiha from Girona to confirm that they are filming in the city. The report also stated that Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell) are also in Girona and have so far evaded being photographed. Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) could also be in the city to film his scenes.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) are speculated to be in Giroa to film their scenes. The report also included leaked photos from the set that show a new set of cast members who are playing roles of members of a theater troupe.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is slated to air sometime in April 2016.
