'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Major Iron Islands Character Cast; New Photos From Production Set Leaked
New pictures from the production set of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 have leaked online from Girona, Spain. Meanwhile reports state that a new cast member has joined the TV series to play a major character in the next season.
[Spoiler alert]
Actor Pilou Asbæk has been cast as Euron Greyjoy on the show and was a part of a scene that was filmed at Ballintoy Harbor recently, WatchersOnTheWall reported. The scene that was reportedly filmed was the Kingsmoot from “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series, on which the TV series is based on.
Kingsmoot is a ceremony in the Iron Islands in which a new king is chosen. The scene that was filmed recently is said to have involved the crowd cheering for Euron. Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) was also said to be present for the scene, but the character Victarion was said to be missing in the scene and there have been no indications that the character will be appearing in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
The Kingsmoot is led by the Drowned Priest, who tries to understand the will of the Drowned God in the ceremony. The recently filmed scene is said to have featured this character. Filming at Ballintoy Harbor is expected to continue throughout this week.
Meanwhile, new pictures from the Girona set have leaked on the social media website Imgur. The pictures show a market place set and some of the other filming locations for the popular TV series.
According to a report by Elpuntavui, cast member Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) arrived in Girona recently. The presence of the actress in Girona suggests that some of the locations in the city will depict Braavos on the show, as this was where Arya was last seen in the previous season.
The premiere episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is expected to air sometime in April 2016.
