‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Spoilers: Sansa And Arya Start ‘Calling Out Jon’
“Game of Thrones” Season 8 will be different now that the Stark family is reunited. Sansa and Arya proved they were a team when it came time to deal with Petyr Baelish, and that doesn’t just apply to their enemies. Arya actress Maisie Williams revealed the sisters will confront Jon together.
“It’s not often you see a character siding with Sansa [Sophie Turner] who’s not manipulating her,” Williams explained to Entertainment Weekly. “Last season it was really tough for Sansa because Jon was thinking with his penis and it kind of made Sansa look bitter. This season you see Arya teaming with Sansa and sometimes calling out Jon [Kit Harington].”
The girls likely will have some problems with the fact that he bent the knee for Daenerys Targaryen. Among the sparse bits of new footage fans have seen from “Game of Thrones” Season 8 is a clip of Sansa coldly welcoming Dany to her home. “Winterfell is yours, your grace,” Sansa says tersely.
While Sansa and Arya will take issue with Jon’s recent decisions, for Williams, it’s fun to be able to be onscreen with one of her best friends.
“It felt nice and powerful to stand next to Sophie. Sophie and I are the tightest of friends when sitting across from anyone, so no acting required,” she explained.
The two have made it clear that they’re very close. They have matching tattoos, and Turner even asked Williams to be a bridesmaid when she marries singer Joe Jonas later this year.
It sounds like everyone needed a good friend on the “Game of Thrones” Season 8 set to help them get through one of the most difficult seasons ever. The shoot included a battle that had to be filmed over 55 nights, known on set as “The Long Night.” As previously reported, Williams was told to start training a year in advance for the scene.
“Game of Thrones” Season 8 will premiere April 14.
