‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Four Spoilers: New ‘GoT’ Trailer Is All About 'Vengeance’ [VIDEO]
HBO has released another trailer for “Game of Thrones.” The new ‘GoT’ season four teaser has just one thing on its mind; vengeance.
Warning: "GoT" spoilers ahead.
The “GoT” season four starts with Arya Stark reciting her bedtime “prayer” of revenge, reciting the names of those she wants dead. “Joffrey, Cersei, Tywin Lannister, the Red Woman,” says Arya to the Hound.
While not a lot of new scenes are revealed in the latest trailer, HBO does show off a bit more of the plot in regards to Daenerys Targaryen. The 15-minute feature, “Game of Thrones Season 4: A Foreshadowing,” ended with a grown-up Drogon, Daenerys’ largest dragon, but the latest trailer is focused on another important aspect of her character.
Daenerys has been freeing slaves and cities but as queen she has to do more than that. “I will do what queens do. I will rule,” Daenerys says at the end of the new trailer.
Of course a new GoT trailer would not be complete with yet another tease. The last scenes has a White Walker riding a horse and many fans are left speculating if that was the introduction to Coldhands.
In the “Ice and Fire” novels by George R.R. Martin, Coldhands is a figure that is encountered by Samwell Tarly and later by Bran Stark, Hodor, Meera and Jojen Reed. In the third season, Sam has already returned from beyond the Wall and met Bran but the series has yet to introduce Coldhands and fans have been wondering if he was removed from the HBO series.
Coldhands acts as a guide to Bran and his journey to find the three-eyed raven, known as the three-eyed crow in the novels, beyond the Wall. There could be other ways to have Bran reach the last greenseer, such as introducing the Children of the Forest prior to the group reaching the cave of the three-eyed raven so it’s unclear if the character at the end of the new trailer is Coldhands or just a White Walker.
The trailer also provides a quick look at Stannis Baratheon, Shae and Theon Greyjoy. The Red Viper and his duel with Ser Gregor Clegane get a little more screen time as well. Cersei is seen in a court setting, clearly testifying against Tyrion Lannister following the death of Joffrey Lannister. The trailer ends with the saying "Valar Morghulis," "All men must die."
“Game of Thrones” season four premieres on April 6. The new “GoT” trailer can be viewed below.
