'Gangster Squad' Star Josh Brolin Arrested For Public Intoxication On New Year's Day
Plenty of people had some excellent times ringing in 2013, but it looks like Josh Brolin may have had a bit too much fun.
The “Gangster Squad” star was arrested for public intoxication in Santa Monica, Calif., before midnight on New Year’s Day, TMZ reported. Law-enforcement sources told the celebrity-news site that, after being arrested, Brolin was booked at 3:02 a.m. and released at 7:14 a.m. local time.
Luckily for Brolin, he was not given a citation for the arrest, meaning he will not have to appear in court to defend himself in front of a judge. Instead, the 44-year-old actor simply paid his $250 bail and went on his way.
According to TMZ, sources close to Brolin said the actor had spent the night out on the town with several male friends and simply had “too much fun.” Hey, who can blame the man?
Brolin’s latest film, “Gangster Squad” will be released Jan. 11. The movie was originally slated to make its debut Sept. 7, but after the mass shooting at a theater in Aurora, Colo., the release date was pushed back, presumably because of a now-controversial scene in which several characters shoot machine guns through the screens in Los Angeles' famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
