Gayle King spoke about her daughter, Kirby, and grandson, Luca, in her recent interview.

King is overjoyed to be a grandmother for the first time after Kirby, 32, delivered Luca Lynn Miller in September. Kirby shares her 1-month-old son with her husband, Virgil Miller. The "CBS This Morning" co-host spoke with Entertainment Tonight and said she has "turned into that guy" who shows everyone the photo of her newborn grandson.

"I am on vacation this week because I am on grandmother duty," King told ET. "We're very excited about Luca, but there's something about seeing your own child become a mother that I can't even explain it, what that feels like, what that looks like. And she's so good. She's so good!"

When asked if she would spoil Luca, King quickly replied, "Yes, yes, yes! Listen, I already have dibs on, 'I'm taking you to Lion King.' When you're five or six, I'm already claiming that."

According to King, she would always tell Kirby, "You are your mother's daughter," but the little boy has a special place in his grandma’s heart. In a previous interview with ET, she also told the outlet that she was testing out different grandma names because she didn't want to be called "grandma."

"I'm trying to decide. I don't want to be called 'grandma' or 'nana' because that just sounds -- no offense to the grandmas or nanas. No offense -- but I'm looking for a nice grandma name," she explained. "Right now I kinda like Gaia because it means Mother Earth and it kinda sounds like Gayle. But I don't know, I'm open."

She added that her grandson might make something up or come up with a grandma name for her, so she remains open about the various possibilities of how Luca will address her in the future.

King was very happy with the arrival of Luca. She shared their first photos together on Oprah Daily. In the adorable pictures, the 66-year-old television personality was seen lovingly looking at Luca who was resting on her lap. However, she didn't show her grandson's face in the snaps.

According to King, when she learned that Kirby got out of the hospital, she immediately left the set and got on a plane to "beat her home" cause it took her so long to be released from the hospital.

Kirby is King's youngest child with her ex-husband, William Bumpus. The exes also share a son, William Bumpus Jr, 34.
