After nearly three decades of dating, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have finally set a date to wed, Oct. 1, which will be aired afterwards on their reality television show.
Simmons asked Tweed to marry him during the season finale of the pair's A&E reality television show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Tweed wrote on her Twitter account that the marriage proposal was the most shocking moment she's ever experienced.
The KISS front man and former Playboy model will marry at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel in Oct. They asked that all guests wear classy cocktail attire...although we know some Rockstar attire will be worn.
The invitation was signed: Love, soon-to-be Team Tweed-Simmons.
The longtime couple has two children together, 22-year-old Nick and 19-year-old Sophie, who wrote a letter reflecting on their parent's marriage decision included in the invitation.
After 28 years of two loose strings, our parents have finally decided to tie the knot, reported the Hollywood Reporter. Our Mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our Father's life... well it doesn't change much.
According to People, Simmons and Tweed have been having problems recently, after Simmons claimed he has slept with other women during their 28 year relationship. However the couple, undergoing therapy, appears to be doing well in the wake of the marriage proposal.
Last day of couples retreat/therapy today. Good work going on here :), Tweed tweeted on Thursday.
The next season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels will air Oct. 4, three days after the couple weds, featuring the wedding planning process.
