Is ‘General Hospital’ On Today? ABC Will Not Share New Episodes Online
It has been an unhappy new year for “General Hospital” fans, who are losing their patience over the delay of new episodes. Since Tuesday, viewers who have tuned in to ABC during the soap opera’s afternoon time slot have been met with the presidential impeachment trial.
Unfortunately for viewers hoping to see Port Charles’ latest dilemma, the network plans to continue delaying the new episodes instead of releasing them online. In the past, the network has made new episodes available online so fans could keep up the “GH” storyline.
However, this time around, ABC appears determined to air the program on television. According to SoapHub, ABC executive Nathan Varni revealed the daytime series will be preempted until the impeachment hearings are over.
“We do have a plan, if we keep getting interrupted in a majority of markets, we’ll, unfortunately, keep pushing the show back by a day,” he stated.
“We do want the biggest number of ‘GH’ viewers to be able to see the episodes as intended on ABC. If we keep pushing, the good news is you’ll get to see all episodes on ABC and won’t miss anything. Thanks for your understanding and your loyal viewership!”
On Thursday, the “General Hospital” Twitter account released a video featuring Finola Hughes, Michael Easton, and Jophielle Love. The clip thanked fans for their patience amid the soap opera’s interruption.
“We know you’re ready for new episodes of #GH... so are @finolahughes, Michael and Jophielle. Stay tuned for updates and thanks again for your patience,” read the caption above the video.
Last week, White House advisor, Kellyanne Conway predicted the impeachment hearings would wrap up within the next two weeks. For now, “GH” fans will have to monitor the daytime series’ social media accounts for the latest updates on new episodes.
“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
