'Genshin Impact' Guide: All Dendro Elemental Reactions Explained
KEY POINTS
- Dendro reactions are divided into basic and advanced combos
- Dendro and Cryo auras can stack on top of each other
- Some Dendro reactions can deal critical damage
The Sumeru update for "Genshin Impact" has finally introduced Dendro as a usable damage type in combat, and it's brought with it some interesting elemental effects when paired with skills from other characters.
For a long time, Dendro has been limited to just the Burning status effect. Now, it can synergize with almost every other element in the game to create some powerful combos that open up tons of buildcrafting and team-building potential.
Here are brief explanations of every new Dendro effect in "Genshin Impact."
Dendro Resonance – Sprawling Greenery
When active, increases Elemental Mastery by 50. Triggering basic Dendro reactions (Burning, Quicken or Bloom) will stack an additional 30 Elemental Mastery for a short duration. Triggering advanced Dendro reactions will add another 20 Elemental Mastery.
Burning (Pyro)
Burning targets will take damage over time. The flames grow hotter depending on the character's Elemental Mastery.
Bloom (Hydro)
Applying Dendro to enemies with Hydro causes Bloom. This reaction spawns Dendro Cores, which act as mines that explode when enemies stray too close. The cores also react to other elements, resulting in some of the advanced Dendro reactions listed below.
Quicken (Electro)
Dendro and Electro combined creates the Quicken reaction. By itself, Quicken does nothing. However, when a Quickened target is hit by Electro or Dendro again, they will take more damage from the triggering element.
Burgeon
When a Dendro Core is hit with Pyro, Burgeon is triggered. This reaction the Dendro Core to explode and deal Dendro damage to everything within a moderate radius.
Hyperbloom
Hitting a Dendro Core with Electro triggers Hyperbloom, which causes Sprawling Shot missiles to burst forth and seek targets to deal Dendro damage.
Aggravate
A Quickened target that's hit by Electro will get hit by the Aggravate effect, which amplifies the Electro damage dealt by the triggering attack. Aggravate procs can deal CRIT damage.
Spread
Inflicting Dendro damage against Quickened targets causes the Spread reaction, which amplifies the damage of the Dendro attack that triggered the effect. Like Aggravate, the Dendro trigger damage can CRIT.
Cryo + Dendro
There is no specific reaction between Cryo and Dendro. However, auras from both elements can stack on top of each other on the same enemy. This means players can trigger two reactions from one attack.
For example, hitting an enemy with Hydro while they have Dendro and Cryo auras will cause both Freeze and Bloom to trigger.
