KEY POINTS

  • All players can easily obtain the Primogem rewards from the event
  • Obtaining all event rewards requires players to score at least 4,300 points per challenge
  • Players should focus on beating difficulty levels that best suit their current power levels

The ongoing Legend of the Vagabond Sword event in "Genshin Impact" version 1.6 is an excellent source of Primogems, Mora and other materials to improve weapons and characters with. This event is similar to the boss rush-type challenges in previous patch cycles but this time, players will have to face some of the newly added boss monsters in the game.

This can prove to be challenging for some, especially those whose teams aren’t up to snuff yet. Newer players may be able to at least get the Primogem rewards from each challenge but to obtain the rest of the rewards, they’ll have to push themselves to the limit.

Here’s a quick rundown of how this event works and a few tips on how to get as many points as possible.

Take Time To Learn

Those who are relatively new to the game should try to learn how to fight each boss first. Becoming familiar with boss attacks, patterns and movesets is a great way to make future runs faster and easier.

Try to spend at least one run as an opportunity to learn boss patterns. Take note of their attack animations, timings and movements and find out the best way to react to them.

Check Flairs And Difficulty Levels

To get all of the rewards from the event, players must get at least 4,300 points per challenge. Those with strong teams can reach this goal relatively easily, but other players might find themselves struggling against each boss.

Players are advised to set the difficulty of each challenge according to only what they can handle. Keep in mind that these encounters serve as DPS checks for a player’s party, and no amount of skill will make up for a mathematical disadvantage.

Instead of playing each fight on Expert difficulty, try to play around with the flairs. Ticking on modifiers like shorter completion times or those that increase enemy RES values are great for maximizing points on lower difficulties without adding any detrimental effects, giving newer players a better shot at getting more rewards at the end.

Use The Right Units

While some characters do get damage buffs during the event, using them isn’t mandatory. Other units will still provide great value in the fights. For example, Beidou can make extremely short work of the Dual Maguu Kenki challenge thanks to her Elemental Burst, while Anemo characters like Xiao can breeze through the Geovishap boss since the monster has no significant Anemo resistance.
