'Genshin Impact': Here's What's To Expect From Inazuma's Upcoming Island
KEY POINTS
- "Genshin Impact" 2.2 will introduce a new island to the game
- Tsurumi Island will feature new enemies to fight and treasures to claim
- The update will arrive on Oct. 13
Patch 2.2 will be adding a slew of new content, including a new treasure-filled island with plenty of new threats to face.
The fog-covered Tsurumi Island will be the latest addition to “Genshin Impact’s” Inazuma region. This will be the third island to be added to the game following the introduction of Seirai and Watatsumi islands in the previous patch.
Much like these islands, Tsurumi will have its own theme, that being a land of fog, as well as a new host of enemies to fight against.
Players will be tasked to explore Tsurumi Island via commission. MiHoYo noted that there will be a step-by-step process for exploring Tsurumi similar to how Seirai Island was introduced in the past. The new island will be located to the south of the archipelago, enshrouded in a mysterious fog that might play a central part in the commission from the Adventurer’s Guild.
Tsurumi Island will have new interactable objects to help players navigate through the foggy environments. Stormstones that react to Electro will dot the surroundings while glowing totems will serve as guides for players who are lost in the fog, similar to the initial exploration phase during the Golden Apple Archipelago event.
Remarkable Chests, a new chest tier, can be found scattered across Tsurumi Island. These new chests will contain blueprints for teapot furnishings. Luckily, players won’t have to spend much time searching for Remarkable Chests as miHoYo placed each of them in easy-to-find spots.
Lurking through the fog of Tsurumi are Rifthounds, a new enemy type that resembles spectral wolves. Rifthounds are able to inflict the Corrosion status on players that will continuously drain HP on all party members regardless of whether or not they’re on the field. Active characters can be brought down by Corrosion, but non-active characters will stop losing HP once they hit 15% of their max HP.
Rifthounds take more damage from their respective element. When near death, these monsters will fight more ferociously at the cost of being even more vulnerable to their elemental weakness.
Tsurumi Island will launch together with the rest of “Genshin Impact’s” Patch 2.2 on Oct. 13.
