'Genshin Impact' Leaks Show New Playable Character Designs and Abilities

The new “Genshin Impact” 1.4 update recently launched, but a new wave of leaks for potential patch 1.5 content is already flooding in.

Twitter users, leakers and dataminers have been digging deep into the future content for “Genshin Impact” and have had some success. Two allegedly new characters named Eula and Yan Fei were discovered in the Chinese version’s audio files.

These two characters were only objects of speculation before, but new leaks courtesy of Zluet and Redditor u/BlackHust have revealed new images showcasing the designs for both Yan Fei and Eula.

Eula is a Claymore-wielding five-star Cryo unit from Mondstadt. According to the leaks, she will have a strong kit that provides both offense and defense but with a strong emphasis on the latter, according to her Honey Impact DB page.

Her elemental skill grants her charges of Grimheart, which increases her DEF and interruption resistance. Holding the elemental skill button will consume all stacks of Grimheart to create Icewhirl Brands that decrease enemies’ Physical and Cryo RES stats.

The second leaked character, Yan Fei, is a Catalyst-wielding four-star Pyro unit from Liyue. She is a renowned legal adviser who is also a half-illuminated beast like Ganyu. Her kit will revolve around dealing area-of-effect Pyro damage using her Charge Attacks. Both of Yan Fei’s elemental skills deal AoE Pyro damage and grant her full stacks of Scarlet Seals, which grant her reduced stamina consumption.

Given Honey Impact’s penchant for posting accurate character sheets, Eula and Yan Fei’s abilities are essentially confirmed, with only minor tweaks to the overall numbers shown in their character pages on the website. The website had previously confirmed Xiao, Hu Tao and Rosaria’s abilities, so it would be no surprise if these new characters will be featured in the game soon.

It will be some time before more news about these characters is revealed. The Windblume Festival had only just begun, and Childe’s banner is still set to run for the next few weeks following the end of Venti’s banner.

“Genshin Impact” patch 1.5 is expected to release on April 28 assuming MiHoYo sticks to its schedule.
