George Clooney Was 'Father Figure' for Elisabetta Canalis

This may sound weird but Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis has told media persons that her relationship with ex-boyfriend George Clooney had a paternal bond! Canalis reportedly said that George Clooney was like a father figure for her!

Clooney, 50, an Academy Award winner, was spoken about by Canalis, 33, in Italian journalist Bruno Vespa's new book Questo Amore (This Love).

According to details in the book, Canalis said that the father-daughter bond was something she could not clarify till now. She added that Clooney was someone who valued her feminine side and that he is a very charitable person. In a translation provided by People magazine, Canalis said Clooney had been special and important, just like a father would be.

George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids...I don't put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs, said the Dancing with the Stars contestant, when asked if issues regarding marriage had been the reason for their break-up in June.

Both Clooney and Canalis have moved on since their break-up; Clooney is dating Stacy Keibler and Canalis was spotted several times with Mehcad Brooks, the former True Blood star.
