‘Get Shorty’ Season 1, Episode 3 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen Next?
Rick (Ray Romano) will learn more about Miles (Chris O’Dowd) and Louis’ (Sean Bridgers) shady background in Season 1, episode 3 of “Get Shorty.”
According to the synopsis for this week’s episode of the Epix series, Rick slowly begins to discover the unconventional ways Miles and Louis handle their business.
Rick first realized that Miles and Louis are hiding something from him when Miles wouldn’t tell him why Amara (Lidia Porto) decided to fund their movie in cash. “Is it tax evasion?” asked the film producer in Season 1, episode 2. “I may look like a small fish in a big pond but I’m strictly legit.”
Despite Rick’s strong accusation, Miles didn’t let it slip that Amara financing the film is actually a money-laundering scheme to further her business.
Although Rick is a lawful man, it isn’t likely that he’ll quit the film once he finds out that Miles and Louis are actually members of a Nevada crime ring headed by Amara. As revealed in the first two episodes of the series, Rick badly needs money. He needs money not only to keep his secretary Gladys (Sarah Stiles), but also to pay for his father’s needs and debts.
Last episode, Rick reached out to his colleagues and tried to convince them to work with him on a project. Unfortunately for him, none of them were interested. With no current projects in development, it seems that Rick has no other choice but to do business with Miles, Louis and Amara.
Elsewhere in episode 3, Miles notices a growing distance between him and his family, so he attempts to bring them to Los Angeles for the summer.
Towards the end of the last episode, Miles finally told his estranged wife Katie (Lucy Walters) that he’s making a film in Los Angeles. He said that he would like to bring her and their daughter Emma (Carolyn Dodd) to the city during the summer break. But Katie said that they can’t come because she has work and is currently dating Jeffrey (Kristoffer Polaha).
Can Miles come up with an ingenious idea to convince his family to go to Los Angeles? Only time will tell.
“Get Shorty” Season 1, episode 3, titled “The Yips,” airs on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 10 p.m. EDT on Epix.
