‘Ghouls N’ Ghosts’-Inspired Game ‘Battle Princess Madelyn’ Kickstarter Stretch Goals Unlocked
Five days ago, Causal Bit Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new video game “Battle Princess Madelyn,” which is set in the same vein as “Ghouls N’ Ghosts” and “Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap.” Today, the project has more than double of its initial goal of CA$60,000. The overwhelming support did not only fully fund the game for its release, it also unlocked most of the Stretch Goals for the action-adventure game.
Thanks to the 1,952 backers (as of press time), Causal Bit’s “Battle Princess Madelyn” now has over CA$120,000 of funding. Because of this, 10 Stretch Goals have already been unlocked. The remaining two — CA$125,000 and CA$150,000 — are also likely to be unlocked soon given that the crowdfunding project still has a long way to go — 23 days to be exact.
The Stretch Goals that have been unlocked so far include the expansion of the “Battle Princess Madelyn” art book, arcade mode, the hidden stage at the end of the game, a Boss Rush mode, side quests and more songs for the digital soundtrack. The Insanity’s Blade King Mode has also been unlocked, and this one makes the game even more challenging since players will be stuck with only the Insanity’s Blade for use throughout the adventure. The latest Stretch Goal that’s been unlocked by backers pertains to the addition of two new enemies to the mix of the deadly fiends.
The penultimate Stretch Goal that’s yet to be unlocked will open the world of more gameplay. This adds two other stages to the game: an expanded version of the aforesaid hidden stage and a new boss fight level. On the other hand, the final Stretch Goal is bringing “Battle Princess Madelyn” to the PS Vita. Causal Bit says this is good news for players who prefer the PS Vita over the Nintendo Switch, or those who have yet to make the literal switch.
“Battle Princess Madelyn” is a game that follows the journey of apprentice knight Madelyn and her pet dog Fritzy. Madelyn is said to embark on an adventure in hopes of saving her family and their kingdom from the rule of an evil wizard. It is set for release on the Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, PC (Steam and DRM-free) and the Nintendo Switch. The estimated release date of the game is February 2018.
