Gia Allemand, a contestant on season 14 of “The Bachelor,” was pronounced dead in New Orleans Wednesday after being hospitalized since Monday in “critical condition.”

According to E! News, Allemand, 29, died Wednesday of unknown causes. She was rushed to University Hospital Monday after a “serious emergency medical event, the details of which are currently not known,” according to her publicist, who said she was in critical condition.

E! reported Allemand was on life support in the hospital where her mother and NBA player boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, were by her side. "Ms. Allemand's mother is with her, along with her long-term boyfriend, NBA basketball player Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans," her publicist said Monday. "On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time."

Melinda Farina, a friend of Allemand’s, tweeted details about the “Bachelor” star’s condition, which have yet to be confirmed by her publicist. "@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone," she wrote

Three days before passing, Allemand tweeted a verse from the Bible. “Proverbs 21:3 'Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering,'” she wrote on Sunday. The star also posted a similar proverb on Instagram, “Legend says, when you can’t sleep at night, it’s because you’re awake in someone else’s dream.”

Allemand appeared on season 14 of "The Bachelor" with Jake Pavelka in 2010. She was eliminated from the final three on the show, and later joined the season one cast of “Bachelor Pad.” She then worked as a fitness instructor in Metairie, La., Entertainment Weekly reported.

Former “Bachelor” co-star Pavelka, along with others from the cast, have taken to Twitter to send their condolences.

“Those praying 4 Gia: Romans 5:5 Hope does disappoint bc the love of God has been poured n our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given 2 us,” Pavelka tweeted shortly after the news broke of her death.
