‘The Gifted’ Season 1, Episode 2 Will Be ‘Super Intense,’ Says EP
“The Gifted” Season 1, episode 2 is expected to be as fast-paced as the premiere episode for the hit Fox series.
While speaking with TV Line, executive producer Matt Nix confirmed that there will be a lot of exciting storylines in next week’s installment. “If you liked the pace and scale of the pilot, we do not let up in the second episode,” he said.
In the pilot, the mutants managed to escape from the Sentinels through the portal that Blink (Jamie Chung) created. But this doesn’t mean that things will get easier for them. In fact, the show’s heroes will find a series of roadblocks in episode 2.
Nix also hinted on the possibility of Blink’s portals not working properly next time around, and this could be one of the detours in the upcoming episode. “We’ve seen Blink’s portals working great, but what if they don’t? Really interesting things happen,” he said.
Meanwhile, another major storyline from the upcoming episode will be about Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) trying to reunite with his family. In this week’s episode, Blink’s portal closed just before Reed could join Kate (Amy Acker), Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White). According to Moyer, “There are going to be man things along the way that stop him from being able to do that in the way that he had hoped.”
In the trailer released by Fox for “rX,” the Kate, Lauren and Andy are worried about their dad. Kate tells her children that they will find him no matter what. The next scene shows Reed being detained in Sentinel’s office with Polaris (Emma Dumont). Reed encourages Polaris to work with him, but she’s still unsure whether or not she could trust him.
In other news, “The Gifted” Season 1 was off to a good start not only in terms of its storyline, but also in terms of its ratings. According to Deadline, the series received a total of 4.9 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating among audiences aged 18 to 49 on its first week.
“The Gifted” Season 1 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
