Is ‘The Gifted’ On Tonight? Trump’s Address, Democratic Response Delay Fox Show
Fox will be broadcasting President Trump’s eight-minute speech tonight about the government shutdown, as well as the Democratic response to it. Since it all begins at 9 p.m. EST, what does this mean for “The Gifted,” which is supposed to air a new episode at that time?
Tonight’s programming schedule will still air in full, a representative for the network confirmed to International Business Times, but the start and end times will shift. That means Season 2, episode 11 of “The Gifted,” titled “meMento,” will be on tonight; It just won’t start right at 9 p.m. EST.
President Trump’s speech is expected to end at 9:08 p.m. EST, but there’s no approximate end time for the Democratic response. That means people who plan to watch “The Gifted” live will have to simply keep an eye on Fox after 9:08 p.m. EST, and those who plan to DVR the new episode should adjust the start and end times of the recording to ensure all of the episode is captured.
While the exact broadcast times are still in limbo, what fans can expect from the show tonight isn’t. Here’s what the official synopsis reveals of the new episode:
Reed [Stephen Moyer] worries as Lauren [Natalie Alyn Lind] becomes intrigued by her ancestors and their violent powers. Lorna [Emma Dumont] begins to reevaluate her trust in the Inner Circle after figuring out the past of Reeva’s [Grace Byers] new trainees. Meanwhile, Benedict Ryan [Peter Gallagher] continues to encourage Jace [Coby Bell] to take action with the Purifiers. Marcos [Sean Teale] asks Clarice [Jamie Chung] to go to the Morlocks in search of information on the Inner Circle and Thunderbird [Blair Redford] gets a call from Evangeline [Erinn Ruth].
Viewers can also look forward to seeing Michael Luwoye back as Erg when “The Gifted” airs at a shifted time on Fox tonight.
