‘Girl Meets World’ Season 4 May Still Be A Go, But Will Air On Different Network
“Girl Meets World” was officially canceled by Disney Channel last week, but there are new reports saying that Season 4 could still happen.
The sitcom that stars Rowan Blachard, Sabrina Carpenter, Ben Savage and more will air its final episode on Friday, Jan. 20. Ahead of the finale, series creator Michael Jacobs told TV Line that there are ongoing discussions regarding the fate of “Girl Meets World.” “There are talks underway, but we’re at the very very beginning stages. And I can tell you it’s because of the audience’s reaction to the cancellation that there is interest in other places,” he said.
By the looks of it, “Girl Meets World” has a good chance of being renewed, but the new season may no longer air on the same network. “For anyone in show business, if you ask them why they’re doing and they say they’re doing it for themselves, they won’t sustain long. Those that answer, ‘We’re doing it for the audience’ and mean it, they sustain,” Jacobs continued.
Meanwhile, the finale episode for “Girl Meets World” Season 3, titled “Girl Meets Goodbye,” will feature the return of some of the original cast members from “Boy Meets World.” The episode was filmed in July 2016.
Ahead of the final episode, “Girl Meets World” Season 3 will first release a new episode this week. “Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen” will see Riley (Blanchard) preparing for her 16th birthday. This triggers all sorts of emotions among the young characters, who couldn’t help but reflect on how quickly their relationships with each other could change.
In “Girl Meets Goodbye,” Feeny (William Daniels), Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn), Shawn (Rider Strong), Eric (Will Friedle), Alan (William Russ), Amy (Betsy Randle), Minkus (Lee Norris) and Harley (Danny McNulty) will stop by to help the young characters make a difficult decision.
“Girl Meets World” Season 3, episode 20 will air on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
